Salt preserves food and it also melts ice . . .  Jesus tells us that we are the salt of the earth. How are we called to preserve the goodness in the world . . . when just figuring out dinner feels overwhelming? How are we supposed to be a light that melts the hardness of people’s hearts . . . when we may feel lonely or unloved ourselves?  Often our brightness feels dimmed or we may forget there is even light within us. But it is still there . . . smoldering and longing for what it is was created to do . . . blaze radiantly. “Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father.” Matthew 5:16
